      Houston's Underserved Neighborhoods In the
Aftermath of Hurricane Harvey - Better or Bitter

As we watched the flood waters envelope our homes, cars, businesses, our neighborhoods, the City of Houston, surrounding areas, and ultimately our lives; we were unaware of how devastating Hurricane Harvey would ultimately be.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey's furor, our prayers and hearts are with our families, friends and neighbors who have had to place their lives on the curb of their streets.  Our hearts grieve with those who have lost love ones during this tragic time.

The damage to property is great but the opportunity to be better from this potentially castrophical event is greater!  In the aftermath of this disaster, we are called to remember our mission and a 24 year commitment to serviing and helping the underserved neighborhoods and affected families rebuild their lives and create or sustain safe, decent and affordable housing.

With nearly 2 decades of experience in disaster recovery and now four (4) storms and hurricanes later - Tropical Storm Allison and Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike and Harvey - we are here to be of service.

Our priority for the next few weeks is to help those persons and/or families most at risk of experiencing health and safety issues because they lack the resources to remove water logged furniture and clean their home. Therefore we are initially focusing on helping low-income elderly and/or disabled persons who lack financial resources or personnel to help.

In partnership with several local churches and community organization - Triinity Gardens Church of Christ, God's Way House of Praise Church and other community organizations we are assembling crews of volunteers to help elderly and/or disabled homeowners clean-out their homes, etc.

If you would like to help or need help, please feel free to call us at 713-487-5763 or go to the Volunteer page of this website and sign-up.

We will continue to update add to or modify the services we are providing as we identify unmet needs. If you'd like to share your experience we have set up a blog so you can keep us posted and provide helpful information and resources.
